The YWCA Columbus is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Their Family Center is a national model for emergency shelter and critical services to stabilize homeless families. They also host a women’s residency program that provides wellness and recovery support, an onsite resource center, phones for business use, employment assistance, job fairs, financial literacy classes, a GED program, and other benefits to women in transition. And their racial justice programs and seminars help create community dialogues about racial bias and race relations.
Want to get involved? You can donate items such as hygiene products, infant care items, and dishes to the family center and women’s residency programs, or make a financial donation. You can also organize a toiletries donation drive, arrange a party or activity for homeless YWCA families, prepare and serve a meal, or help with event set-up and planning.
